Barn wood and encaustic painting

After running out of barn wood and trying to find a good barn wood source for about an year now, gladly / fortunately / finally, found one- yes! Right away I started the carving of 10 new barn wood blocks, which will house small encaustic paintings -the ongoing series, for a few years now, entitled Hiding Places.
I love this series and I am so happy to have found a new source of barn wood.

Next step consists of painting inside the carved space, which I just finished tonight, so what’s left is a few touchups (an incised line drawing over the painting) and photo shoot time.
